Class Standing

Scholarship Criteria

Scholarship Name

Sophomore, junior, senior

  • First preference is given to full time students majoring in International Studies Program
  • Second preference given to legacy, full time students in the College of Education & Human Development
  • Must have a strong academic record
  • Overall GPA or 3.0 or better
  • Must be an active and involved member of community or campus organizations
  • Financial need
  • Available to both entering and continuing transfer students in International Studies.

Dr. Dante Thurairatanam Memorial Scholarship in International Studies

* 2 awards – approx. $800 each

* Application available in September

* Deadline: Jan. 31

Undergraduate

  • Must have a break in formal education
  • Seeking first baccalaureate degree
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • 3.0 GPA from BGSU or other college
  • Full- or part-time student

Undergraduate or graduate

  • Adult learners
  • Reside in Lucas or Wood County for one year
  • Current or future dislocated worker or special barriers
  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Enrollment in degree, certificate or noncredit programs

* Deadline: July 15 for fall semester, December 1 for spring semester

Undergraduate
  • Nontraditional female students with preference given to residents of Sandusky, Wood, or Erie county.
  • Full- or part-time student
  • Continuing student or a new first-year or transfer student
  • Demonstrate financial need as verified by the Office of Student Financial Aid
  • May use this award for any educational expenses

Junior, senior or graduate
  • Nontraditional female students, 25 years or older, with preference given to students studying English
  • Full- or part-time student
  • Must demonstrate exceptional talent and professional promise based on GPA and faculty recommendation
