Dr. Jobes will provide an empirically-based assessment and treatment approach developed from 25 years of ongoing clinical practice. Contemporary clinical issues (e.g., HIPAA, managed care, the role of hospitalization, medications, “suicide” lyrics in popular music, and the common and inappropriate use of “safety contracts”) will be discussed and explored.
An important subtext throughout this conference is an examination of what makes life worth living—a critical concept that clearly applies to suicidal and non-suicidal patients as well.
